Relax yourself and your mind at The Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa, and enjoy everyday to the fullest. Although the staff is on property almost ‘round the clock, we decided to come up with some things you might miss if you find yourself wanting for something to do.

Pleasures for Any Season

Spend the Day on the Property
Enjoy the porch or the fireplace and watch the day go by, mountain style, in a wooden rocker or comfy leather couch. Forget your book? We have a full library, with plenty of reads for all minds, at least enough to distract you for the duration of your stay. Didn’t finish it? Take it with you and mail it back…better yet, bring the book next time you come.

Get the ‘in’ on Outdoor Adventures
Any one of our staff has probably just returned from, or is planning a hike, ski, river trip or any number of seasonal outdoor activities around their work schedule. We LOVE sending our guests on hikes, skis and even scenic drives that most visitors might not get from the guidebook, of which we have all types at the desk so come borrow one before you set out for the day.

Visit the SPA
Need we say more? Let our therapists work out the kinks of everyday life. Schedule full-day services during the mid week for several hours of pampering and attention. Also, take advantage of the dry cedar sauna and relaxation room with massaging recliners!

Warmer Season Pleasures

Get Up Early
Enjoy your coffee and tea outside on the deck, in summer and autumn, while the sun alights upon the view of Mount Washington and the Presidential range. Coffee is out by 7 am, though you’re likely to catch staff enjoying the stunning pink and orange glows bringing on the day as early as 6:15 am. It’s also the best time for animal watching as they roam the circuit across our front lawn in the morning mists.

Tour the Top
We work and play right in the shadow of Mt. Washington, the Northeast’s highest peak, so climb, drive or take the Cog railway up to the top of the world. Hang onto your hats and car doors, as this is where the world’s worst weather and fastest recorded land winds on the planet are.

Night Breezes
Early evening in summertime is a mountain treat. Down in our front field, the crickets will bring in the night with pure country sounds. Jackson has little to no ambient light pollution, so stargaze away from the back lawn, or the top of Jackson Falls.

Take a Walk
Jackson is a walking village, so enjoy the loop around the little town. Stop off at the J-Town deli in town for afternoon sandwiches and snacks, don’t miss the Ravenswood Curio Shop for local artwork in a unique building, or golf at the Wentworth down the road. Stroll past Jackson Falls, maybe put your feet in the water, and just enjoy what life is like in a quiet mountain village.

Colder Season Pleasures

Enjoy Breakfast in Bed
All our rooms are enough to make you never want to get out of bed, so why bother? Let us know in the evening or ring reception in the morning, and we’ll bring up all your AM needs, mimosa’s and all. (Fee applies)

Ski & Snowshoe
The Inn is smack in the middle of ski country, and when the snow flies it’s better than Currier and Ives, sleigh rides included. Follow the crowds or your moose tracks for an enjoyable day in the winter sun

Board Games
We’ve got a variety of board games – so don’t forget about that Scrabble tournament you’ve been waiting to have.

Winter Workshop
Coordinate your trip with one of the many AMC classes offered for outdoor education and winter mountain travel. www.outdoors.org for a schedule, makes for a great winter day activity, learning and all.

Soak Your Worries Away
After a long day of skiing, warm your bones in the dry cedar sauna located in our spa.
